Where a place needs more room than a film gives it

A film holds a place for ten minutes. Some of these water systems have more in them than that — photographs that never entered a cut, and reasoning that belongs on a page rather than in narration. The books take those.

The Hue Lagoon

Working title · in preparation

The lagoons of Hue and the long project that worked on them — the same ground as The Long Threshold, at book length. Photographs, and an account of what the FAO project did over close to a decade, with its costs named alongside its results.

In preparation with Massimo Sarti. It will be listed here when it is available.
